Bethany College The original Bethany College was started at Tecumseh in the early '60's by an Episcopal minister. At that time it was thought that the capital of Kansas would be located there. When Topeka was decided upon as the capital, the school was brought here. The first building occupied the pre- sent site of the Woman's Club. The present building is the home of some 300 girls from kindergarten to college age. The ivy-covered buildings and the beautiful grounds of the college form one of Topeka's prettiest spots.
