In construction, design and equipment it is second to none in the country. The plant was formally opened to the public January 23, 1926, after it had been in operation several weeks. One year later work was begun on an extension which will double the capacity of the station. The new addition will probably be in operation by September 1, 1927. The Capper Publications With a circulation of four millions, the Capper publications have for their headquarters a four-story building at Jackson Street and Eighth Avenue. Senator Arthur Capper purchased The Topeka Daily Capital in 1903: it was published on East Eighth. The other publications, which for four years were printed in the Crawford building, were transferred with The Capital in 1908 to the present building which was just completed. The second portion of the plant was added iii 1919.
