Our Commercial Department The Commercial Department of T. C. H. S. is a part of the school of which we are justly proud. This department has given to the world its quota of expert stenographers, typists, and bookkeepers. The students who have graduated from this department realize that there is no royal road to the world of Commerce. Experience has taught them to appreciate the advantages of a complete high school Com- mercial education. The training they received in their Alma Mater has helped them to cope successfully with the world and to advance themselves materially and financially. At the opening of the scholastic year, the students were delighted to find that many improvements had been made in the Commercial department. The typewriting room was considerably enlarged. Eight oak tables and six new typewriters were purchased, making a total of fifteen machines. Windows have been set in the wall between the Junior or Commercial room and the typewriting room. This improve- ment has proved very advantageous. A filing case for Commercial supplies has also been added. Although all the departments are growing, we notice especially the continual increase in the Commercial department. Many students, awakened to the vital need of Commercial training, have entered the mid-year classes. As proof that our typewriting classes have grown, it is only necessary to endeavor to secure a machine outside of the assigned time. A. Flynn '24. 15

Our Room Farewell to T. C. H. S. is re-echoed in each hea1't, while the gentle call of the birds, the sweet budding flowers and the bright sunny days tell us that June is approaching, and with it our gradua- tion day. Glancing back through the years, our eyes discern a por- trait, beautiful and realisticg yet something reminds us that those days are now a memory. Sorrows are not remembered and we see once more the dear class room. How we appreciate every joy and pleasure, treasure every hour, and with grateful hearts promise to be faithful to the lessons then taught us and to the principles instilled in our hearts. With this word of fidelity we part from our classmates with every wish for their future success and happiness, and from the old class room haunted with tender memories. L. Slaybaufh '2-1. H

Graduation Day All the clouds have gone from the fair heavens All the darkness has faded away, The dial of time now is pointing on, 'Tis the morn of Commencement Day. All our hearts are so gay, ah, so merry, As we look to the future beyond. The fair skies from afar reflect sunshine Shed over us by dreams that have dawned. Let's forget the gloom of our yesterdays, And just think of the gay tolnorrows. Let's enter to-day the fair land of dreams To the winds with all gloom and sorrows. Opportunity knocks but once to all So dear classmates take heed while you may, For this day starts anew the tide of life, 'Tis our wondrous Graduation Day. VV. B. '24 16
