The Laboratory Among the features of T. C. H. S. which are evidence of our pro- gressive spirit, the laboratory stands as one of the principal figures. The equipment and apparatus of this department are said to be the best in the city. With these advantages the science classes have a splendid opportunity for the study of chemistry and physics. In its appeal to the mind, and in its refining influence, science is universal, and as long as mankind seeks higher things, it will continue to be the material presentation of ideal thought. W. Our Library One of the many new additions to the Topeka Catholic High School is the library. Through the untiring zeal of the President and Fac- ulty, and with the administration of several coats of paint, a dreary, vacant room was converted into an inspiring abode of learning. Rubber matting of superior grade was laid on the cement floor. When everything was in readiness, thirteen substantial book-cases were installed. These were a welcome addition, as many new books had been purchased. A kind benefactor donated several statues of the famous writers, Poe, Dante, Milton, and the immortal composers, Beethoven, Liszt, and Wagner. Five costly oak tables with thirty chairs were placed in this room. A magazine stand was also pur- chased. A filing system has been introduced by means of which it is easy to locate any book or author. The library contains several thousand volumes, among which are encyclopedias, reference books, books of essays, novels, books of travel, histories-State and Church, in a word books suitable for pleasure or for general knowledge. A visit to the library of the Topeka Catholic High School will convince you that it is one of the most modern and thoroughly equipped High School libraries in the state. M. McD. '24. 12

Our Room Farewell to T. C. H. S. is re-echoed in each hea1't, while the gentle call of the birds, the sweet budding flowers and the bright sunny days tell us that June is approaching, and with it our gradua- tion day. Glancing back through the years, our eyes discern a por- trait, beautiful and realisticg yet something reminds us that those days are now a memory. Sorrows are not remembered and we see once more the dear class room. How we appreciate every joy and pleasure, treasure every hour, and with grateful hearts promise to be faithful to the lessons then taught us and to the principles instilled in our hearts. With this word of fidelity we part from our classmates with every wish for their future success and happiness, and from the old class room haunted with tender memories. L. Slaybaufh '2-1. H
