Nussn SAILOR MAIDS N4 'vel 1 h School o eretta SAILOR MAIDS mnvarxug wai presented, March 50 The operetta told a lively story of confused identity Frances Marie, a yacht capta1n's daughter, is celebrating her eighteenth birthday Her kv S hildhood sweetheart, Edward Dover, whom she W' 'mf ,ur has not seen for ex ht years, is to pilot her new yacht across the bay. When Edward arrives he is mistaken for a caterer, due to the fact that he detests water and that he ns interested in Jeanette, he does not explain the mistake Thus, it is possible for David Kern to be mistaken for Edward David becomes interested in Frances Marie, and Edward prevails upon him to keep up the deception. When the true identity of the two men is discovered, both Frances Marie sud Jeanette are very much shocked, but everything is soon explained, and each young man wins the girl of his choice, The following participated in the Operetta: Liberty Clifford, Alexine Orr, Roberta Van Hoyt, Jack Dynan, Fred Steen, Bob Butler, Peter Fisler, Dan Welsh. This operetta was under the direction of Miss Ila Meyer. 'UP IN THE AIR which was presented last year under the direction of Miss Jean Quast and Mrs.Hansen, was the first operetta offered by the high school for several years. Later the paper was issued under the name of 'NUGGET Its life as the NUGGET was publxshed by t e local newspaper, but nts appearance was not regular Soon xt ceased to appear altogether For a few years there was no school paper Then the SANDSTORM ap peered as anumeographededxtlon It was published ln thas manner for some tune, after whnch nt appeared ln the Txmes Bonanza, as it does now The ed1tors have resorted occasxonally to the use of the mxmeograph for the publicatxon of thenr paper The NSANDSTORM' is at present under the management of Edxtor Jack Dynan and Assistant Ed1tor Bob Butler Upon the graduatnon of the edxtor the Assistant Edxtor becomes the edntor, as provxded by the school constitution and a new assnstant is elected This ar rangement xnsures trained talent m charge of the 'SAND STORM The editors of the SANDSTORJl wxsh to take this leans to thank the Times Bonanza for the use for nts space which enables them to publish the SANDSTORM 250 N W ' . , ..
