The lxrst game was the Senlors vs Frosh, whxch proved a walkaway for the Senxors, the score bexng 53 15 Cap taxn Barsantn lead the Sen mrs makuxg 31 pexnts, lol lowed byRaynond Morales who made 12 points Great floor work and delensnvely ability was shown also by George Goll,Homer 0'Conne1l, James Donohue, Peter Flsler and Jack Dynan. In the second game the Senmrs played the Juniors lor the champxonship and agaxn the Senxors proved that they were too powerlul lor thelr opponents, score being 35 3, at the end ol game Agaln the Senlors were led by Captaln Barsantl, Donohue and Morales Donohue nn this game scored 16 points followed by Barsanti wxth 12 0'Conne1l, Golf, Morales, Flsler and Dynan played outstandlng ball Ior the Senxors. The lnterclass tourna ment games were played at the beginnxng ol the season, so that the coach might pick the school team from the varxous classes All classes were gnven the same prelim lnary traxning, alter which the classes voted lor thelr team captaxn, who ln turn chose the team to represent the class One gxrl ol each class drew the team xt was to play The hrst game was played between the Senlors and Frosh The Frosh had a splendnd team and though they worked very hard, the Senlors easlly defeated them. The next game was played between the Junxors and Sophomores showed great sklll nn team work and were the vxctors. The lnnal game was played be tween the Sennors and the Sophomores. NUGGET GIRLS BASKETBALL Illfiffi' many years basketball has been one of the S major actnvltles lor the g1rls of Tonopah E H1gh School In former years xt was customary for the gxrls' team to accompany the boys' team on all xts trxps However, w1th1n the last few years,the tendency ln many ofthe schools ol thas ,'f5l'5'f 94Fl state has been to lntroduce other actlvxtxes lor girls along wlth basketball As a result the gxrls no longer have as lull a season as formerly Thls year practxce started November 25 under the dxrec tion of Miss Van Beek After the nnter class tournament was fnnnshed, Coach Van Beek pxcked a squad of twenty gxrls Later th1s group was lnmxted to Olga Beko, Lnberty Clifford Eleanor Traxnor, Helen Landers, Isabel hamsmxth, Roberta Van Hoyt, Audrey Tralnor, Mxlka Beko and Clanre Txtlow Fave of these gxrls, Helen Landers, Lxberty Clxfford, Eleanor Traxnor and Isabel Nalsmxth, played their last game for Tonopah Hxgh thls year, as all five gurls are senxors I Games were scheduled thxs year wnth Fallon and Hawthorne In addxtxon to these games the Muckerettes played two games with the local town team Although the gxrls dxd not wxn all their games this season, they feel that they have had a sue cessful season 24 N 9 ,R a.p, , . . . - ' ' ' ' l936
