NUGGET SUPHOMORES s 'ul HN graduated from the eighth grade in the year I nineteen hundred and thirty leur At that time we were a class ol nineteen who entered High School to become proud Freshmen Four freshmen, Tom NAV 9. Warner, jo ined ns Later Tom and Clark decided to drop out In due time the class rush came up Although we put np a good 1 ight, we were beaten the Sophomores Soon we held an election lerclasa oltlcers in which the lellewlng were elected: Franklin Parker, Preeldent,Dean Weed worth, Vlco President, Oerry Johnson, Secretary and larle Williams, Treasurer Our Fresh party was better than we had expected Each member ol our class Invited a person lren the npperclaeses Onr next event was our Barn Dance This turned out quite well We had wagons, saddles, horse shoes and other articles which gave the gymnasium the appearance ol n barn Durlng our Frosken year, lreno Gill, larie Wllllame, Clalre Tltlow, and Gerry Johnsen were lucky to obtain parts ln the plays el the year At the end ol the year we all went ent te Alkall for oar class picnic We came hack to school ln September aowas mighty Sopho mores We were glad to welcome two new nenbers, lorrls Young and Lncllle Orr The time el the rash drew near and we were once agaln lnll of hopes But the same sed story, we were beaten hy the Freshmen, very nach to our disappointment The cleas olllcere area Deen Woodworth, Preeldont, Bornlce West, Vlce Preeldent, and Ruth Brown, Secretary and Tree enror Walter Nelemlth and Donn Woodworth made the basketball team this yeer. Roberta Van Hoyt, Gerry Johnson, Claire Tltlew, and Helen Hackman were ln the varleus pleys given. NUGGET JUNIORS Ilrgaeirg- Junlor class stepped lnto a new phase I lxfe, September 1933 When we entered this strange and hxgh pleasnng life as xnslgnifzcant frosh, rebuffed and i nored by the mighty upper classmen, we were fifteen ln number ggggaaaumai At the end ofthe flrst week we had the sophomore girls atour feet, owing to the fact that we had defeatedthem ln the annual class paint up The rest of the year was spent in good hard study, and as a result one of our members was placed on the honor roll Beginning the second year of our high school career,our class had diminished to thxrteen However from that small :number two ol our boys were pncked for the maln basketball team, and several of our girls represented the school in the state wxde gatherings in Reno Our Junior year so far is a very interesting and excit ing one We have given several social affairs which have been successful and we are now planning on our Junnor Prom which is to be the biggest and best for a many a year 1? NUGGET FRESHMEN entered the excitnng realms of high school num berlng twenty seven Although some of the orig mal graduatnng class have left, some more have entered and we are stlll twenty seven strong lin' e were ushered mto high school wxth a class rush an whlch we competed against the Sophomores Though we are up against great odds we surprised he hig er up' by a victory over the trusty bophs 3? After we became situated and dlscovered where we were and what we were doxng we decided to elect a class sponsor and some class officers Those unanimously elected were Sponsor, Mlss Van Beek, Presxdent,Poncho Morales, Vice Presi dent, Angelo Barsantlg Secretary and Treasurer, Helen Cralg, all of which have fulfilled thexr respective offlces to the best of thexr ab1l1ties Next on the Freshman class program was the Frosh Dance After much search for new ideas and the dxscussxon of them, it was finally declded that the Freshmen Dance would be a masquerade ball with a prue given for the best costumes The co operation of those giving It and those who attended it, made our first attempt at raising money a big success We have done very well up to the president time and the golden path to success lies before us If we are hot tempered to waver from our course on to one of the many snde roads we shall reach the much coveted goal of success. 19 32.3155 E . - 0 - Ng' ,Ng T594 ' - is Ei W ' ' 1 fm: . . fill 1 iran-b'1? .l.1 g t h - ' . . 2 .
