slalom .KDTOIZZEGH 7956 In The year I966 a friend and I decided To Take anoTher of our many rockeT-ship Trips. We are indeed Thankful To Judy Gehm and PeTe HilTabrand for invenfing The amazing formula for ouT of space flying. When we approached The rockeTporT, who do you suppose was The doorman? None oTher Than Chuck Miller. We chaTTed a while, buT Then we came To The conclusion ThaT we had beTTer purchase our TickeTs before The ship Took off wiThouT us. AT The Tickef counTer we called To a young lady, and when Anne Ashley Turned around she shouTed in surprise. IT was unbelievable! Mary Jo was on The roof of The glass sTrucTure doing a Tap dueT wiTh her fiance, Mike. Soon The aTTracTive Phyllis Schiffbauer came in wiTh her bugle, and she gave us The signal ThaT The rockeT was ready To leave. Zoom! We were off for ouTer space. We had always wondered whaT The conTrol panel looked like, so we asked The preTTy sTew- ardess, Eleanor I-larseim, if we could Take a look aT iT. She obliged, and we made Tracks To The conTrol room. The piloT as well as The co-piloT seemed familiar when I approached Them. Guess whaT! They were none oTher Than Diane and boyfriend, Howard. They were Trying To lisTen To Bob Earles' poliTical speech over The space radio and were having a difficulf Time concenTraTing on The conTrols. You see, Bob was running for UniTed STaTes PresidenT. AlThough we were Traveling T999 miles per hour iT seemed we would never reach The re- fueling sTaTion on Mars. We had no sooner spoken our ThoughTs To each oTher when we sTarTed To land on The .IeTer RockeT-porT, where Mr. JeTer was Teaching one of his many classes. We had no sooner landed when a handsome young man named Johnny Beenenga came zipping around servicing The ship for The nexT iaunf. As soon as The ramp was lowered and The escalaTor seT up, we headed Toward Bonna and CharIie's Cafe. They were very happy To see us. IT seems ThaT They had had a liTTle Tiff abouT how To fry hamburgers, and marriage coun- selor, Roger Ploch, had given Them some fine advice. IThey fry Them Ploch sTyle now.l We were almosT home when we sighTed a meTeor heading Toward us. The piloTs losT con- TacT while Trying To dodge iT, and we speeded Toward earTh in a nose dive. AfTer The crash everyone was Taken To The Tonica ATom Con- Trolled HospiTal, which was operaTed and spon- sored by The very successful Beverly Ferroni. IT was here ThaT Dr. Guy FriTz and Dr. STephy Sydlowski, his brillianT assisTanT, Told us ThaT no one was iniured. Before we were released, we learned ThaT Duane Klehm had complefed a remarkable feaT. The world would forever be aT peace, Thanks To The KlehminTine Peace TreaTy wiTh all naTions. IT was abouT Time for The new ediTion of The Sandra NaTionaI Times To be on sale, so we picked up a copy. You see, Sandra Calkins was ediTor and owner of The largesr newspaper in The universe. We were very happy To see in This paper ThaT Gayl Milner had been selecTed as The mosT consTrucTive and ambiTious young debuTanTe. She was sponsoring The reunion of The class of 1956 Today in The halls of T. C. H. S. As we glanced aT The M. T. V. lMars Tele- visionl, we couldn'T believe our eyes! There was misfress of ceremonies, Marlene Zimmerman, infroducing The greaT magician, Maibelle WierTz. Maibelle said ThaT she was doing no magic on This show, buT iusr Then Mary Ann SwifT, The beauTiful model, lumped ouT of her haf. We hurried back To our ship afTer lunch. As soon as we reached The moon, we rushed To our seafs in The Tonica Sfadiurn. IT was There ThaT Bob Cave was playing singlehanded againsT The Harlem Moon TroTTers. IT was a mi- raculous moonslide. Bob won by IO7 poinTs. Boy, does he have a fan club! We goT Bob's auTograph and sTarTed back To earTh.
