Township Line Q Nw ' Courier p The 1958 football team, led by Captain Perry Smith, began the season with four vic- tories. The turning point of the season was the Rumson-Fair Haven game in which Toms River lost 6 to 24. After that contest the team could not recapture its winning ways. Three losses were suffered to Point Pleasant, Pleas- antville, and Matawan. Victories over our primary rivals, Central Regional and Lakewood, make any Toms River season a successful one. Regional was scalped in a 31-6 massacre, and a war party from Lakewood was defeated on the battlefield, 26 to 13. 13 vs , 5 -4 Mike Blooml25l finds day- light through the Brick in V Lain. ll: John Thompson HT Mike Hodas .
