We began our Treshman year by elecTing capable oTTicers: PresidenT, Junie Sica: vice-presidenT, Ed WesTen: secreTary, Joan Sinclair: Treasurer, Eileen Carroll. Joan Sinclair and Ed WesTen were selecTed as STudenT Council members, The class oTTicers proved To be so compeTenT ThaT They held Their oTTices Tor Three consecuTive years. ln The senior year, however, Junie Sica was chosen presidenT: Dick Howe, vice-presidenT: Joan Sinclair, secre- Taryi Glo Douglas, Treasurer. Toms River sporT Tans cheered Tor our Tall, rugged aThleTes. STarring in TooTball were Junie Sica, Dick Howe, PeTe Weber, Andy STring, George YeTman, Tiny Froriep, Dick Tunney, Al Hayes, and PeTe Bender. Ed WesTen, PeTe Weber, Junie Sica, Phil Arm- sTrong and Phil GranT were our baskeTball heroes. The senior boys who excelled in base- ball were PeTe Weber, Dick Howe, Phil GranT, Tad Jendy, Al Hayes and Ed WesTen. LasT buT noT leasT such girl aThleTes as Sis OTToson, Mary Sperlazza, Glo Douglas, Gerry Dech, Joan Sinclair, and Mary CoTov held The spoTlighT. WiTh The help oT Mr. Reigle, The sophomore class sponsored a successTul magazine and book drive Tor wounded soldiers. Joan Sinclair, Irving Wallach, Thelma and RuTh Hann, Alice Keller and Gerry Dech were among The enThusiasTic seniors who helped make The Hallowe'en painTing program so eTTecTive. The senior year has been The mosT successTul year Tor The class oT '47, In The TirsT quarTer The class was represenTed by a panel oT nine seniors who pub- licly expressed Their views on The Topic oT leisure Time.
