SENIOR PROPHECY fCont1nued from Page 277 We again reached our apartment and again our sleep was interrupted thrs time because one of our crew was suffering aloud with 3 severe toothache We went down to ask the night clerk Miss Ruth Moyer if th re was a dentists oiice rn the building She said there was and rang for bell hop Leveria Grimes tthrs hotel seemed to employ a number of the fairer sexy to show us to the office When we reached the office we were forced to wart our turn Finally however a smiling nurse came out and said that we were next When we entered tre operating room where there was more light we saw that the nurse was our pal of school days Miss Geneva Evans The dentist had his back to us examining his weapons As he turned however we were astounded to see that Ray Markloff was the young dentist who was to fix the ailing tooth It did not take long for him to finish and we returned to our rooms and slept soundly until late in the morning We wanted to visit the oifice of the New York Times before noon so we were forced to bolt our breakfast In the office of the New York Times however we again saw that the Toms River alumnae had lnvaded the ranks of the newspaper world The first Woman to attract our gaze was Olive McLaughlin demure young lady who had become a wizard of the keyboard itypewriter to youb right behind her we saw Beulah after waiting for what seemed eternity the editor in chiefs private secretarv Ruth VanDuzer ushered us into the main office where lo' and behold what did we see? We saw MHTIOH Garland delving into piles and piles of letters files and other important papers We asked Miss VanDuze what MHTIOH was doing here and she replied that she was editor in chief but she also told us not to call her Miss Garland since she had just married Sonny Bersergel that brilliant screen performer who has won his place along with Lon Chaney and Boris Karloff You probably saw him 1n that mysterious picture Murder at the Bowling Alleys It was near noon when we again emerged from the newspaper building W had to catch the plane at Newark for the homeward trip and we had to do some fast traveling to get there in time We finally arrived at the plane however and in a short time we were home home in good old Toms River all sure of one thing s a small world BOYS OCTET lP1ctures on Page 581 First Tenors-Harry Duckworth John Armstrong. Second Tenors-Roy Meridew Robert Dilks. First Basses-Edgar Slack Franklin Then. Second Basses-Charles Biernbaum George S .hrader. This group has trained under Miss Nelson not only during activities period but also at noon time. The boys participated in the exchange programs presented one performance at the Traco took part in the Glee Club Concert on May 25 and were active in the Commencement exercises. 00 GIRLS CHORUS fPicture on Page 587 This group has ten members. Tle first sopranos are Alice Olsen and Marion Garland' second Sopranos a1'e Ruth Van Duzer Gladys Smith and Jeon Oxner' Iirst altos are Beulah Knox and Bernice Frech' second altos are Lois Grimm Mirth Tufts and Mary Cartella. These girls meet every Tuesday with Miss Nelson. They have participated in the exchange programs the Glee Club Concert and the commencement exercises. The picture represents them as they were in the Christmas Play in which the girls were carolersg hence the winter costumes.
