ORCHESTRA The orchestra has been in existence a good many years under different leaders Teacher Th orchestra this y ar IS the laigest we have ever had and many think It the best in the last few years. This orchestra plays at practically all of the assemblies and because of this fact the assemblies are much more pleasant. After hearing the orchestra many pupils wished to join. To qualify themselves for it those who werent able to play an instrument have been taking lessons. Some of these are now playing in the o.chestra and are doing a very good job of it. When the orchestra was started at the beginning of the year there were only twelve in it. Now there are double that number with twenty-five musicians active. The orchestra has in addition to Mr. Hoffman two student directors Alice Olsen and George Schrader who were trained by Mr. Hoffman and have at different times conducted the orchestra before the student body. Because of illness three very active members were absen' when the picture was taken. They were Edwin Tversky saxophonist Hel n Byrne pianist and Albert Erath trumpeter.
