CLASS Pres dent Arnold Tversky VICE Presldent-Hugh MCDEVICE Treasu1er Ray Markloff Secretary Emma Bernet SENIOR CLASS NOTES The foul years slnce we entered the l1ttle red school house on the top of the h1l1 to prepare ourselves to be the future men and women that Toms Rlver would be proud of have passed more rap1d1y than we could have lmaglned when we entered as freshmen on a September day IH 1933 At that tlme we looked forward wlth a great deal of enthusxasm to the day when we would b come senlors That t1me has come but the mtervenlng years were fatal to some of the orxglnal members of th1s class of 37 who fell by the WaySld6 and b cam membels of other classes The majority of our class stlll struggled Weaflly onward however and are dolng thelr best to further the s andfud of our class 1n the ranks of the other out tandlng classes Wh1Ch have ln the past preceded us Freshman Dance At our first meetlng the following 0mC61 were elected Pres dent B1ll Irons V1ce Presldent Jean Dunn Secretarv Beulah Knox Treasurer Robert Dllks Under the able superv1s1on of our faculty advlsels the class members of 37 plesented a snappy dance to WhlCh they IIIVIDCG the ent11e hlgh school Thls was the first tlm an uncond1t1onal 1nv1tat1on had been glven As a result more people attended our dance than ever before and a very good tlme was had by all At our first meetlng ln our sophomore year we elected the followlng officers Presldent Arnold Tversky V1ce Presldent Beulah Knox Secretary Emma Bernet Treasurer George Cornellus Although our oflimals were capable and popular our class Just dxdnt pay up no money no band no dance Th1s also was the first tlme a class had failed to glve lts annual dance We seem to have been '1 class that was always oflermg something new whether good or bad' As Junlors we determlned to make up for our sophomore delmquencles and 1mmed1ately held a meetmg to elect oflicers and plan the Jumor Prom Those elected were Presldent Arnold Tversky V1ce Pres1dent Hugh McDev1tt Secretary Ethel Fowler Treasurer G1lbert Perrlne Everyone worked for the Jumor From and when the txme came we sponsored that colorful promenade whxch the maJor1ty of our class shall never forget Our presldent was mstrumental ln brmglng The Vrkmgs to play for us and d1d hlS best as d1d all the Jumors to make thxs dance atone for us and do the Job of two In our Jumor year the class Jewelry was purchased and arrxved 1n tlme to be Haunted at the Prom much to the dellght of the Jumors tCont1nued to Page 849 0 F . v, 3 ' 3 6 S qr r T A ' e e .
