The natural decrease in enroll- ment has heen intensified by the forces of war. Lawrence vonGnechten, Ellis Peterson, Lyle Copiskey, and Harold Kaphaem left to join the armed forces hefore the opening of the fall term. Ronald Hansen was inducted soon after the hegin- ning of the school year. John Boyle, Jack Chvala, Darrell Lundgren, and Gordon lllitchell were ahle to complete one semester of their senior year. lVallaee lVurl left two weeks hefore Commence- ment to enter the Navy. We regret that these classmates were unahle to hnish the year with us, we pray for their safe return and we hope that we shall prove worthy of their great sacrifice. ln this husy world of to-day many of the graduates have found work to do. 'lihey are all eager to he of service, in any capacity. to help to get this war oyer and to help in planning the future 1 after the victory. 3 1, 1 lbrxl1ll.l'if'A f-fl,l'iNSllfli ? l'llIL KROPL.-X AND ,ICE MAYER -io-
