A T P L A Y I N C. A. A. That the C. A. A. is a very democratic orga- nization is shown by the officers, as a representa- tive from each of the four classes is included. Senior Loraine Dams is president. and sopho- lnorc Pat Usterinick. vice-president. Alice Yon Iladen. frcslnnan. serves as sc-cretary and joan- nctte Trahner. junior. acts as trcasurcr. Because the Girls' Athletic .Association is not only conccrned with sportsmanship and games. hut also with exercisc and health. members of the group have kept themselves fit for increased activities this year. The C. A. A. girls really have a lot of extra hours of exercise. so if x'ou're the walking anemicv type. or if your diet has added a lc-xv surplus pounds. loin C.. A. .-Xtter five very promising sessions ot practice Xlr. Bixer. the hoxing coach. resigned his posi- tion. so that the team was left without a coach. .Ks a result of the lack ot a coach the team did not continue the schedule for this year. From last yearis undefeated team only one senior graduated. so this yearis prospects were unusually good. In order to hox in Toinah lligh School the student must maintain passing grades and achieve an almost perfect physical condition. It is customary to hold elimination houts early in the season to determine the team memhers. The hoxers who compete must haye put in a reasonahle amount of instructixe practice. Each person is matched with someone within four pounds of his own weight and nearly equal in ability. Boxing has been very popular with the fans of Tomah. and Tomah High School has a reputa- tion tor good teams and good sportsmanship. Since special emphasis is heing given to sports of this type at the present time. the team is ex- pected to resume fighting again next year. l. This must he what they were referring to when they said, It's a great life if you don't wealcenli' . . . 2.
