Gutlook changes season 28-22 Jay victory turns season around The junior varsity football team had a season that started slowly and did not show much promise. But by mid-season a change in attitude and a new outlook on the word winning had taken place. The junior varsity made a noteable turnaround in their season. They scored major vic- tories over such teams as Holmes and Jef- ferson. According to Mike Benson, The biggest win was over Jay, because we wanted it for ourselves and especially for Coach Maldonado. The Cougars played well through the remainder of the season, and they had come down to the last game of the season. A game which meant the winning or losing of the district title. ironically the game was played against their big rival, the Marshall Rams. The Cougars lost the game 10-6, but they put up an admirable fight. They ended their season with a 5-5 record, and a new outlook for future seasons.
