The experiences we shared, the lessons we learned and the hard work we put in can only help to make us a better team in the future. I was proud of the girls and the way they played this season. The Seniors, as well as all the girls should be complimented on making this a season of growth for our team rather than one of transition. -Wusterbarth- BOYS' DISTRICT The 1980-81 Boys Basketball team represented their school and their league well at the Northwest A District Tournament. First night action saw the Demond take on Nooksack Valley, eventual fourth place finisher at State. The game was tied going into the fourth quarter but the Demons ended up losing in a hard fought game. The Demons eliminated Blain ofthe Whatcom County League in second-night action. Tolt beat Blaine in the regular season in overtime but had no problem this time around as they won by 19 points. Coming back to play Lynden Christian in the third round the Demons fell to a heartbreaking defeat in double overtime. Kings of the Cascade League played Lynden Christian for the right to go to State. Kings won by one point and went on to place second at State behind Lynden, also ofthe Northwest District, The Demons proved to be very competitive in the toughest District in the state. They can be proud of their accomplishments. There are many new and exciting things happening around Tolt Junior-Senior High School. One ofthe most exciting is the new building construction that s taking place. The ground breaking was held December 1980 The plans for completion will be the following school year.
