Lieutenant Commander Edwin L. Beasley, USN EXECUTIVE OFFICER A native of Pennsylvania, Lieutenant Commander Beasley is a graduate of Villanova Uni- versity. He was commissioned an Ensign at Officer's Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island in 1957. He served as Damage Control Assistant and Engineer Officer in USS HYADES QAF- 57J until mid-1959, as Engineer Officer USS TUTUILA QARG-43 from 1959 to 1960. From 1960 through 1962, he served as a missile division officer in USS CANBERRA QCAG-23. He was assigned to shore duty with the Defense Intelligence Agency from 1963 to mid-1965. He served as Engineer Officer USS WALDRON QDD-6995 from July 1965 to July 1967. After nine months as a student at the Def ens e Intelligence School, Lieutenant Commander Beasley served for two years as Head, A c ou s t i c s Division, Naval Scientific and Technical Intel- ligence Center near Washing- ton, D.C. He reported to TOLOVANA in October 1970. LCDR Beasley is married to the former Caryl McGee of Prospect Park, Pennsylvania and has four children: Caryl Lee, Sara Ann, Ronald and Jacqueline.

Captain Dohnell Howard, USN A native of North Carolina, Captain Howard joined the Navy in 1943 and was commissioned an Ensign after completion of flight training in 1946. For the next three years, he was as- signed to Fighter Squadron 41 aboard USS ROOSEVELT. Since that time, he has served with Air Transport Squadron SIX of the Military Air Transport Service, Patrol Squadrons EIGHTEEN and 'THIRTY. In 1965, he commanded Patrol Squadron NINETEEN flying the P-3 Orion and in 1966 com- manded Patrol Squadron THIRTY. Captain Howard has seen duty aboard USS CURRI- TUCK in 1957 and served as Operations Officer and Execu- tive Officer of USS GUAM in 1967 and 1968. Graduating from the Uni- versity of Mississippi in 1957 throughthe Navy 5-term pro- gram, Captain Howard has at- tended the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk and the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base. He received a Master of Political Science from Auburn University in 1969. Captain recently completed a tour of duty with the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff where he was Senior Military Repre- sentative to the Department of State Operations Center. Captain Howard is married to the former Mary Lee Puckett of Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and has three daughters: Jill, Joy, and Judith.
