THE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER BANQUET N The Girls Athletic Club gaye a banquet to their Mothers on the eyemng of March 18 1926 in the High School Gymnasium An lnterestmg program had been arranged consrstmg of solos by Margaret Lesl1e wlth Isabel Bower at the p1ano and a saxophone solo by Kathryn Kerr accompanied by Margaret Leslle Helen Ring and Kathryn Kerr gave read mgs The glrls of the club sang a toast to the Mothers Mrs VJ l Mac Drarmld gave a yery 1nterest1ng talk on athletrcs and the relation of Mothers to their daughters which was very IIISIIUCIIVG and enjoyed by all Varlous games were played includlng a basketball game mothers agalnst daughters which was won by the latter THE SEASONS MOVIES During th1s school year of 25 and 26 our Tolono High School has shown some exceptlonally good moyres We found th1s a line way to get the town people out to our school and among us as well as furnish them an evenlng of good entertainment The profits were used to buy dishes silver ware and also help finance our school Annual The first plcture shown was The Lrghthouse by the Sea on December 19 1925 1n which the famous movie dog R1n T1n Tm was featur d On January l9 1926 Johnny H1nes in The Early B1rd was shown and this was mdeed an enjoyable plcture Two weeks later on January 30 l926 Baree Son of Kazan was shown We saw Rm T1n Tm perform again so brrlllantly and are convlnced of his greatness on the screen On February 27 l926 we presented Johnny Hines 1n the Speed Spook The fifth p1c ture of the season was Matt Moore and Dorothy Devore 1n The Narrow Street a plcture Vvlfh plenty of comedy On March 13 l926 we had an other picture whlch pleased the children R1n T1n T1n IH Flnd Your Man Last but one of the best pictures the world has eyer known was America ln which more than one important star was featured Nell Hamll ton played Captaln Nathan Holden L1onel Barrymore as Walter Butler Carol Dempster as Nancy Montague Charles E Mack as the younger 'Wontagu and Arthur Dewey as George Washington helped the actlon Mr D W Crlffxth planned this PICIUFL at the suggestion ofthe Daughters of the Amerlcan Revo lution The eyents in the picture are filmed in the exact spots wh re the real events actually o curred America then IS an accurate as yy ell as dramat1c record of the eyents portrayed Every h1stor1cal scen IS played as it actually occurred wrth no llbertres taken for dramat1c convemence F L W Irftu one P' xx, lx xl lx . , . - . xl 5 Y s X , V xl . . . ffl 15 YZ LF e ' KU 3 ' ' .
