Illinois Virginia Adrean Detroit Michigan Frank Kelly Tolono Illinois Otis Crawford Chicago Illinois GIRLS CHORUS There were twenty nine girls in the chorus this year under the direction of Mr Meier This was Mr Meiers second year here and knowing each other better and the chorus periods being lengthened to hour classes twice a week we were able to accomplish more this term than last Our members were Bernice Wheeler Sarah Creamer Harriett Duell Imal Mandrell Mary Kidd Constance Whall Hallie Wright Agnes Starkev Helen Wrlght Phyllis Cravs ford Madge Wigner Marie VanMeter Florence Reif steck Isabel Bower Vena Mandrell Mary Davis Louise Norton Frances Daeger Margaret Leslie Beulah K1dd Ruby Osterdock Hazel Horton Golden Bedient Anna Lake Elva Boastrck Margaret Parry Ruth Klette Lucille Schwehm and LaVanche Weakly our pianist We had no special officers except our librarian Harriett Duell Our contest number was Esmeralda a four part composition Besides this number we gave several others in publ1c and also studied a few for our own enjoyment including The World is Waiting for the Sunrise Smilin Thru May time Sparkling Sunlight Ojala and others We enjoyed our work this year and we eight seniors regret the fact we cannot be among them next year Good luck girls BOYS CHORUS The boys chorus was just organized this year We were glad to see them come out and Mr Meier was surprised to find such a good chorus of male voices The lack of boys voices has kept us from placing higher 1n the chorus contests of the previous yearly meets Their members were larger in number at the beginning of the year but those which remained were Ward Adams Jr Damon Overman Nlelvin Charles Donald Rowland Kermit Osterdock Harry Bedient Gail Mandrell Roy Rutherford Everett Schlorff Stanley Ring Howard Rush Orville Bretz laff Elmer Holleman Chester Fackler Richard Horton and Clarence Harden their librarian The boys took great interest in their work studying for the most part for their own enjoy ment Mr Meier decided to present Windmills of Hol land ln which he put seyeral of the best yoices in the leading parts They proved successful and when our contest song Esmeralda yy as chosen the boys were given a part in this also We surely appreciated their efforts and hope they will continue nest year Forty seven QQ' nun AGS .
