Fi QR: 1: : x x x Ii :: 1: ' - 1 - x x 2 2 Eire Enlisnmu irirgizgigtigr GIRLS ATHLETIC CLUB The Cnrls Athletic Club was organlzed thxs year under the sponsorshlp of M1ss Ireland Sarah Bates was elected presldent I-Iarrxett Duell vxce pres1dent ind Frances Daeger secretary and treasurer A poxnt system IS bemg worked out whereby the gxrls ln the club can Wm a letter of gold and blue the club s colors two hundred po1nts be1ng the neces sary number for obtalnlng a 'I As this IS a new orginlzatlon no glrls are wearmg letters yet but many are workmg for them and hope to have them 1n the near future BOYS INTRA MURAL MEET An mtra mural meet was held after the regular basketball season was closed There were five teams entered under Captains Horton Osterdock Bedlent Rmg and Weeks Osterdock took first place with a thousand per cent as hls record R1ng took second w1th s1x hundred s1xty SIX per cent Weeks thlrd w1th five hundred per cent I-Iorton fourth with three hundred thlrty three per cent and Bedlent fifth with no games won TRACK Last year s annual county meet at Ogden was easlly won by Fisher w1th a score of 657 pomts second place bemg taken by St Joseph w1th a score of 37 po1nts Our track team d1d very l1ttle only one score be1ng made that by takmg fifth 1n the one half mlle relay Although we made such a poor showmg 1n athletlcs IH llterary events we ranked hlgh and thls year we hope to do much better In llterary events we are to be represented by Margaret Parry Declamatxon William I-Iartleb Oratlon Clara Schweppe Essay In track events the followlng men are entered Bedlent Fader BlfkS Allen Horton Smlth Osterdock Charles GRADE TRACK MEET The Champalgn County Grade Track Meet IS held for the second t1me 1n Tolono Last year the me t was held rn Rantoul one hundred and fifty boys competlng ln the track meet alone Sidorus and Fxsher took honors ln the track events but m llterary events Tolono took some of the laurels and lf is expected that the boys wlll rank toward the top ln thms year s track and that also we take several tirsts 1n the llterary part of the meet I urlu three Qpf 111,411 :gg ' E .4 X V . , . . . .
