Studonts looked on while Mr. Llndaas prepares to show another movie. The World in a Song. The Girls' Glee Club has com- pleted another full year of activities. Under the direction of Mr. Lindaas, the members have a Christmas Con- cert for the P.T.A., an annual spring concert, participated in the Gary Music Festival, and Baccalaureate, and Commencement Exercises. A- long with the A Cappella Choir, they gave a dance to raise money for the club. Developing musical skills brought much attention from Glee Club members.

Art students demonstrated their skills In mask-making. Art students admire the work of fellow students. Both Artistic and Linguistic Students display talent in chalk drawings. In Art I the major areas of study this year were development of design, sense, individual skills, and understanding and development of practical, vocational, and aesthetic experiences. Also a command of tools, equipment, and techniques, care, and use of materials were mastered. Art n students gained a broader knowledge In the use of materials, techniques, and skills. In this course the students developed an under- standing of design and ability to choose well designed articles for personal use. Individual projects promoted within each student the sense of creativity. They revealed such things as the correct techniques of contact printing, the developmental process, and the different textures of familiar objects. The students also learned what is considered good photography through composition and techniques. Creativity also occured in classical languages. Latin courses studied various areas. Latin I students learned the fundamentals of Latin grammar. Latin II students participated in such class activities as translating excerpts from Julius Caesar. Latin III students studied the famous Romans Pompey and Cicero. 27
