GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT BIGGEST IN STATE The beacon of the future, the trail blazers ofthe destiny ofthe students, the future helpers. . .these are the many fine counselors. Headed by Pat Stewart, they are: Liz Helm, Heradia Sanders, John Barchi, Dan Garcia, Al Mroski, and Gene Hernandez. They are the reason for many students staying in school, giving them sound advice for the years to come. ln the nursing department, Mrs. Penny McGovern and Mrs. Alicia Maurer help students get through the day, Mrs. Maurer is a newcomer this year, from the ASU School of Nursing.

Mrs. Lucille Williams has attended U. of Illinois, Illinois State Univ., San Diego State Univ., and Danville Jr. College. She has her degree in Biological Sciences. Teaching here for two years, she said, The reason why l moved here toteach in Tolleson was because it is growing. .... . E X as .1 X5 '1- lr. Kino V. Flores attended NAU to aceive his B.S. in Education in 974, and his M.A. in Administration 1 1979. He has been teaching for vo years, andthis yearhe was made n assistant to the administration. Lt. Col. John L. Wolfe has attend- ed Marquette Univ., NYU, Univ. of Washington, Univ. of Mary- land, and the Univ. of Puerto Rico. His degrees are BMA and MS. He has been teaching for 12 years. Mr. Steve F. Turkovich has at- tended ASU, Northern Ariz. Uni- versity, and UA. His degree is BA and he's been teaching for 13 years. He said, Tolleson has gone from a small, good school to a big better school. Mr. Woodring attended NAU to receive his MA in Education. He has been teaching here for 23 years. He comments that There has been a big change in development and growth in the past ten years. Mr. Silverio Zecca attended Phoenix College and ASU to re- ceive his BA and MA. This was his 17th year at Tolleson. He feels. Although Tolleson High School has almost tripled in size since I first arrived in 1966, it still has maintained a pleasant and friendly atmosphere in which to teach. Mr. J. Zadronzy has been teach- ing here for one year. He attend- ed Oswego State College and has a BS + 15. He helps sponsor the Hiking and V.l.C.A. Clubs. Mr. Richard Zielinski attended ISU, St. Francis College, and Ball State Univ. to receive his BS and MS in Education, and his Admin- istrative License. He sponsors NHS and has taught here for two years. 175
