OLVERINES Si I :LVHOTOLAB Wolver-News, Photolab Cover it All There were many troubles to be battled in the beginning, for Wolver-News. Probably the most detrimental was the reduction of the staff from 20 last year to a record low of nine. Only two of these were returning letterrnen as Mr. Cooper put it. In the same interview he added, lf I were a sports coach I would say we are having a building year. Other problems were the overload in Photolab, a change of printers and a schedule change from last year. Even with the problems in the beginning the staff covered the school to keep the student body informed. There were many interesting articles written, such as one page on research articles on the chemistry of anger which was three weeks in writing. Chris Devine, Lucy Fong, Diana Rodriguez and Kathy Ogden were several of the many fine reporters. Chris also wrote many articles for the Teen Gazette. One of the outstanding beginners was Scott Jackson. His famous quote was printed in the November issue: A newspaper should always try to raise the reading level of its readers, and so raise the intellect of society without writing above its readers so that they can't understand. This year's Managing Editor Vincent Pacheco keeps things under control. Diana Rodriguez, sen- ior, works hard edit- ing final copy. Diana wrote the whole front --- page in the November 24 issue, excellent ar- ticles about unique and foreign stu- dents. ' i l K7 ff? af? T ..r. 'Shins Murphy's Law' ',.. if anything can go wrong . . . is always a challenge to beat. Mr. Jackson congratulates Rick Parisi on beating Murphy's Law with his good nature, never giving up, per- sisting, repeating etc. After eight times he finally pulled it off. Most students give up after the first try, but not Rick! He kept at it until he finally got all three classes together with the pho- tographer. Lupe Rivera and John Spiller give Martin Trinidad and Patty Armas helpful hints on howto do a layout. Bob Keller, Sophia Conde and Gabriel Moreno ride on top of Jackie Sehnert's car in homecoming pa- rade, driven by Karen Rodgers with James Hawley and others ine side. Deborah Brady, Mary Ann Galindo and Yolanda Martinez help students take photos. uf, ,E Ali, 133
