DRILL TEAM PROUD OF 175 TROPHIES Having won the Blackjack every time for the last eight years, The Tolleson Drill Teams, male and female, are very proud of the 175 trophies they possess. To achieve this outstanding record they have put in much hard work: march three miles every day for more than 173 hours practicing movements. This year the spirit and enthusiasm in these cadets ranks among the best. Denise Fulks, a proud member of the girls drill team, declaredg then she continued: Although the year is only half through, the drill team has captured five trophies. The teams also provided the color guard for the Phoenix Inferno games, and presented the Pageant of Flags for more than 14 years. . . a presentation of our country's flags, past and present. They are PROUD of the American Flag! Cadet Major, Teresa Dominguez, Cadet Battalion Commander, Girl's Drill Team Commander, has earned the respect of all. The Homecoming Parade finds the girls in top form as they march down Van Buren. HOIVIECOIVIING GETS A CHANGE The coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen was done at the spirit assembly, the night preceeding the big game. This was a change in tradition in previous years, the coronation had been held during half time. After the crowning ceremonies a rousing spirit competition be- tween classes was held, which sophomores won. The assembly was rounded out with a colorful talent contest, the warm glow of a roaring bonfire, and the cheerleaders leading the entire crowd in our fight song. Concluding the Homecoming Assembly, King Ruben Ruiz and Queen Alva Martinez take a royal walk. Raymond Edwards, Lisa Plante,Craig Olson, Trisha Hodge, and Jon Elliott are featured on the first place winning Senior Float, I- K ,gg Q V , arg! A 1 1 L M A Q any A .H my ll it . ' fx gl' -ibiiffa Senior attendants, Chris Waters and Valerie Wheatley Junior class Prince and Princess, Todd Davis and Anna Galindo Senior attendants, Paul Villa and Norma Orona Derrick Allen strives to gain yards in the Home- coming game against Agua Fria.
