Trying to unify chicanos, they engaged in many activities: a conference on Gang Warfare: a conference on La Mujer, held many burrito and tamale sales raising funds for positive activities, donations to chari- table causes and trips. NEW CLUBS MODEL U.N. - TOAST MASTERS UNIQUE CLUB EXPERIENCES Many new clubs were born on campus, of these, the most unique was the Model United Nations. Model UN was a mock United Nations on a high school level. At the general assem- bly students act as delegates representing various countries in a United Nations format. The club represented two third- world countries, Paraguay, and Zambia. Participants in Model UN were nominated by teachers and those who wished to join were inter- viewed bythe club sponsor, Cathy Lumm. Mrs. Lumm had hopes of representing more controversial coun- tries like Russia or Libya in the future. Steve Miller working on his project, A coffee table.
