Our Have an Apple, Although our Psychiatric affiliation took us only across town in distance, we were entering an entirely different Held of nursing, that of caring for the mentally ill. Our main purpose, we found, was to learn to accept the pa- tient as he was, though not necessarily to approve of his behavior. The keys and the locked doors seemed to pro- duce an air of secrecy but we knew it was to protect the patient. We will never forget that some of the principles learned can be carried over to our general hospital nurs- ing. x avg, HMM, ,,., M N' N f I O rr,.tr X, .,., V Toledo State Hospital P i' Okay Kids, What are you really reading??? ,fa-A 32
