Q, ,gat The Preclinical Class This is the trial period of nursing life where the patient is so much in mind that often we are afraid of him. Somehow everything we have been taught in the past few months seems to have gotten confused when we compare what we have learned with our first patient. Suddenly we are on the wards with the rest of the nursing team and in the excite- ment of it all we have forgotten everything. But each day, slowly, everything begins to correlate. lt's hard! We have seen despair, heartbreak, death, and happiness and through t it it all it is only professional to keep a calm, smiling, unreavealing face. Here it is where we learn what it is to be a young woman, with a ,.,- ...N maturity beyond our years. That is, until we have left the hospital, and return to the domitory.
