Toledo Hospital What's the emergency? Emergency-Outpatient As a part ot our clinical experience, each student spends two weeks in Emergency Room and two weeks in the Out-Patient Department. ln Emergency Room, the student is taught the fundamentals ot emergency care and howto function in an emergency. Many patients are seen by the house doctors in our Out-Patient Depart- ment. This area consists of several divisions: Medical, Surgical, Obste- tric and Pediatric. Here the students assist in the follow-up care ot pa- tients and recognize the importance ot preventive medicine and the promotion ot better health in our community. Dietary Service During our training, a tour week period is spent ii' in a special unit called Diet Therapy and addi- tional courses in nutrition are presented. lt is here we realize the great impact food has upon our civilization. Diet is extremely individualized I according to culture, disease, age, and estab- lished habits. 16
