ASPCI' During the year 55-56 the Class of 1957 participated and sponsored many activities at T. H. S. During football season, we sponsored dances at the community hall and sold candy and hot dogs and coffee at the games. In the inter-class basketball games before Christmas we played in the finals against the Seniors, losing by a close score. In April we held a car wash to help put on the Annual Junior Play and earned enough to see us through the play. On April 9 we traveled to the Long- view Daily News. This helped us very much in our English Classes. Friday, April 13, marked the final performance of our Junior Class Play, entitled Fog Island. We helped put on the Junior-Senior Prom, April 20. Six members of our class were on the committee which planned the prom and others stayed after school to help decorate. We decorated the gym for Com- mencement. For the March of Dimes, we donated 525. 25 from our class treasury and collected the rest from the Sophomore roll rooms, Altogether we raised S4o.oo. We also sponsored dances on the stage at noon, Our team won from the Freshmen in the March of Dimes fund raising toumament. We placed third in the Christmas Basketball Tournament. The majority of players on the B squad basketball team were Sophomore boys. They had a good season with I9 straight wins. We ordered our class rings on March 15, 1956 and hope to receive them next October. They are of the Golden Knight style and are of a variety of colors. Our class put on a one- act play, entitled Herbies First Date, and two talent numbers for an assembly to entertain the Student Body, We decorated the auditorium for the Baccalau- reate Services, using large baskets of flowers and sprays of flowers in front of the stage. We are looking forward to our Junior and Senior years at Toledo High. Mrs. Soland and Mr. Soland .. v, G? 'WYKXKW i 1. .lk N!
