FFA For the thrrd consecutrve year, the Toledo chapter achreved the Master Chapter award Thrs honor outlrnes the chapter functrons for the year and can be garned only through cooperatrve efforts of all mdrvrduals of the organrzatron The Toledo boys entered state wlde competition rn judging Contests entered were the Auburn Fat Show, Southwest Washrngton Farr, Cowlrtz County Farr, Carnauon, Western Washlngton Farr at Puyallup Pacrfrc Internatronal Lrvestock Exposrtron and the Washington junror Poultry Exposrtron Thrs year as a whole, was very frurtful judgrng team members were Addy Stinger, George Hack, Ray Turner, Paul Massey, Don Massey Bob Randall Gordon Dlerrnger, Roger Lewls and Ben Turner and Bxll Anderson served as alternates Community servlce rendered by the chapter included dorng tractor and equipment custom work, pnmrng fruxt trees and clrpplng cattle As the delegate of the Toledo chapter, Addy Stinger was sent to the Natronal F F A Conventron at Kansas City, Mxssouu Ray Turner, as State President, represented the State of Washington as one of rts offrcral delegates Agam thrs year the chapter sponsored the fourth annual Father Son Banquet, March 14, at the Hrgh School This social event IS planned again for next year Paul Massey received the Trophy for the outstandlng project Governor Arthur B Langlre was rnvxted to attend but was unable to be present Mr Severre Omdahl, Director of Agrrculture, came as a personal representative ofthe Governor and delivered a very rnterestrng talk Paul Massey won alternate to the Unlon Pactfrc Scholarshrp for the year 1950 The Toledo chapter drd well rn parliamentary procedure In the sub-drstrlct contest at Toledo the boys placed frrst Again at Longvrew rn the drstrxct contest they came out frrst This was re peated at the sub-state contest held rn Puyallup This wxnnrng entrtled them to attend the State contest at Pullman where they placed second ln the State rn an extremely close contest Paul Massey represented the chapter at the State Convention conducted by Ray Turner State Presrdent Other members attending as parlramentary team members were George Hack, Addy Strnger, Roger Lewrs, Blll Anderson, Don Massey, Gordon Drerrnger and Mr john Blake, chapter advrser At the conventron, Paul recerved the State Farmer degree and Ray recerved a S100 check for wrnnxng the state rural electrrfxcatron contest 0 0 0 o I . .
