SENIOR C ASS PL Y Pure As The Driven Snow was presented once on April 10 and again by popular demand on May 1 in the high school auditorium. It was set in the form of an old fashioned melo-drama. Songs sung by members of the cast and the audience turned the performance into a very successful one. It was a dark and stormy night, as all nights are in meolo-drama. Purity Dean, a working girl with a secret, seeks shelter from the storm and comes to the inn. She has been forced to give up her work in a canning factory because she cannot endure the attention of Mortimer Frothingham. Alone and penniless, Purity is seeking employment. When they offer her work at the inn, she accepts with alacrity. She and brave Leander meet. Love blooms at first sight. But Mortimer is on her trail and catches up with her. Like all true heroines, Purity repulses him but Morty doesn't repulse easily. The play ends happily, as would be expected, with Mortimer's wife showing up at the last minute to ruin his villainous plot and send him to prison for his foul deeds.
