As Freshmen they were quite active in extra curricular activi- ties. There were three out for football, consisting of Jerald Smith, John Ferry, Stanley Rebik, and Bob Zmolek who was manager. Theypresentedaone act play called Honey of a Peach , and were active in Mixed Chorus, Glee Clubs, band and Y-teen. The girls also took in a sport, girls basketball. As Sophomores they were much more active. They had the largestnumber on the Honor Roll, which really means something. There were more out for football, boys and girls basketball, ac- tive on Newsreel staff, MixedChorus, Glee Clubs and band. They also presented the play Let's Rough It to the P, T. A, The Juniors of 5l pre sented the play Here We Go Again which was a big success. Several were out for football and played in most all of the games. Only four boys were out for basketball, and several girls were out. The day they gave the banquet for the seniors was awindy one, but everyone had a good time. They par- ticipated in band, girls and boys Glee Clubs, Mixed Chorus and a greatnurnber in small groups like girls sextet and trio, boys octet and quartet, pep band and instrumental groups. The Seniors supplied the football team with six players, each one receiving aletter. They were John Ferry, Eugene Garretson, Roger Steveson, Jerry Smith, Gene Rogers, and Mike McCann. John Sichra and Ronald Cockrel were sports managers for the year. The Senior Class supplied one boy for the basketball team but there were seven Senior girls all seeing action sometime during the sea- son. They also participated in band, glee clubs, mixed chorus, smallvocal and instrumental groups. As we go to press, the year isn't completed. We are looking forward with anticipation to Skip Day, the Banquet, Senior Class play and Commencement. All in allwe have had lots of fun in our four years at Toledo High School. SPORTS Dean Aulerich Keith Blake Elmer Cliburn Orla Davis Stanley Dostal John Ferry Eugene Garretson Harry Hyde Duane Kaisand FUUTBHLL The football season of 1950 here at Toledo High has beenagreat success. The fellows on the team succeeded in finding something that was lacking for a long time--Team Spirit. Although there were some tough breaks at the beginning of the season, the hard running and im- proved blocking of the team made it one of the toughest teams in the conference during the latter part of the season. The school spirit was not only improved on the team, but in the whole student body as well. That is why we again say, Toledo had a very successful season. 34 CY pg Dean Lewers Carl Pottoroff Gene Rogers Jerry Smlth Roger Steveson Paul Wh1tIT1OTC Jack Zmolek Marvm McCann Arnold Scott Cerald Youngman ni CO3 1,3 PS5 5 B 0116 gh FUUTBHLL SEASON 'S R EC ORD Toledo Opponent Grlnnell Grundy Center 6 Brooklyn Marengo Traer Montezuma Tama Belle P1a1ne Won 2 Lost 6 35 Manage xom swhfa tx RON Q The Boys T Club was orgamzed January 19 1950 and carr1ed through to 1951 mural class tournament for the boys dur1ng the fmrstpartof March tlfns year The Junlor elass won the Charnp1onslnp as they dld when they were Sophomores The boys of the club d1d the refereexng and Coachxng themselves and made approxunately 51360 on th1s project Offlcers for the 1950 51 year are Pres1dent Eugene Garretson VICC Presldent Jerry Smlth Secretary Treasurer John Ferry Managers John S1chra and Ronald Cockrel ?' vw LhFl FO Rlblll RLAR Arnold Scott Flrntrtlnbnrn Harry Hyde Rxtllardwubnld CarolPottorff Kettlllilakt MIDDLE Eugene Garrctson MarvmN1tCAnn Gerald Youngman Duane Katsand jack Lmolck JerrySm1th KNEELINC, OrlaDav1s Stanley Dostal Dean Lewus 36 BUUS' l CLUB 5 I - f , M 1 5 f F' 1 1 ,J ' X Ni,-V i ' l I W V K ,N i5 . n A I J L-A Clocul-cl.
