Mgt 'ix KING AND QUEEN HIINIHIUNII ll The Homecoming ceremonies began by hanging an effigy of Marengo above the school- house entrance Thursday morning, October 14, That evening, A Torch Parade and Snake Dance, led by the cheerleaders, began downtown and ended at Wagoners. The Homecoming spirit burst into flame as torches lit a huge bonfire and 'Marengo' was burned amid loud cheering of townspeople and students. With a rousing send-off, the pep meeting got under way with the pep band playing On Toledo. Yells, speeches, and a skit-- The Wedding of Miss Victory --completed the gala affair. At 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, the float parade, consisting of the Marching Band, the King and Queen and attendants, and the floats proceeded down main street. The procession stopped at the band stand where Mayor Gary crowned the royal couple. CKing William and Queen Elaine and the attendants--Doris Ferry, Sharla Kvidera, Bob Carson, and Walter Starr--were chosen by popular vote of the high school student body., Friday evening provided the high-light of Homecoming. Upon a gaily decorated Clark Field, the Raiders upset the much-favored Tigers 21-13. At half-time the marching band presented the King and Queen to the fans. Following the game a dance, held in the Community Building for students and alumni, climaxed a perfect Homecoming! HOIVIECONIING GAME
