Rulers clutter the deck and they are working feverishly so they can take a coffee break. The job over, they reach for their cups. Just then the phone rings. A familiar voice on the other end informs them that they have stores on the dock and to proceed at once to same. H'I7d On the dock is a mountain of stores, bales of rags, soap, masking tape, paint oil for the Main Issue room, turnover gear, bolts, locks, bearings, chain and an assortment of other items for Aft,' Issue. All the storekeepers bear a hand, thinking that if they hurry they will be done by noon. The stores continue to come aboard amid the gripes and moans of a few tortured souls who rated early liberty, not to mention the moans of the men of the deck divisions represented in the working party. Knock off ,work is sounded. The storekeepers have stowed all the stores in their respective storerooms, but the work is not yet done. The process of checking in the assorted material is just beginning. The day is ended, but not quite. . I .ja NOT EVEN I AM ALLOWED TO SEE THE COMBINATION
