B This was a year that the Rockets provided the fans with some of the smoothest basketball and most exciting contests since the Titusville District Champions of 1947. It was also our best season since 1947. The boys brought home the victory 15 nights while only dropping 4 contests. Nine straight wins started off the season before we were taken over by Cranberry and Meadville. From there on it was a nip-and-tuck race for league leadership among Titusville, Meadville, and Oil City. Never-to-be-forgotten games were the 57-50 victory over Meaclville and the season finale-a heart-breaking one-point loss to Oil City that gave the district crown to Meadville. We donlt see how any team-before us or after us-could provide a more thrilling season of basketball than our boys provided. Lost to the team through graduation will be: Jack Buser, Merle Dibble, Glen Dillon, Bob Gustafson, Cecil Harrison, and Don Bishop.
