same places as Lloyd when we were Semors A pol1Ceman came ox er to break up the crowd I recogmzed h1m at once Harlan Hanna hadn't changed much I asked h1m how he came to be pol1ceman He sa1d that he had had a lot of contact w1th off1cers of the law when he was 1n h1gh school and they had made such a faxorable 1mpress1on that he dec1ded that th1s k1nd of work was for h1m F1nally we got the cars unstacked I won't expla1n th1s man1pulat1on because you wouldn't behexe me anyway The cars weren't damaged at all I dec1ded to walk to my hotel s1nce It was only about sex en blocks Suddenly someone ran 1nto me I1mmed1ately saw that he had a huge kn1fe 1n h1s hand I screamed but then I real1zed that the person was James Meyer You can understand why I would be cur1ous as to why James was runmng down the street w1th a kn1fe 1n h1s hands He explamed that he 1S a famous phys1c1st 1-Ie Sald that he has found a new and less expensne way to spl1t the atom Then he started runnmg down the street aga1n we1ld 1ng h1s kn1fe rap1dly I sure th1nk 1t's funny that no one thought of spl1t1ng the atom Wlth a kn1fe before No sooner d1d James leaxe then I saw Mary Lou Dlmond She told me that she runs an adx1se bureau that 1S exclusn ely for g1rls She also told me that her bureau s slogan 15 A d1amond 15 a g1rl s best fr1end As I was cross1ng the street to get to the hotel a car turned from a s1de street and raced toward me It stopped Just 1n front of me and lt s dr1x er Lalon1e H1ll got out and came ox er to me She told me that she was so happy because she had Just o her fly1ng l1cense lt seems that she became xery 1nterested 1n Pllotlng Immed1ately she Jumped 1nto her car and left I really don t know why she thought she needed a l1cense she flew around Tyke for 2 years w1thout ex er hax 1ng a l1cense Before I got to my hotel I saw a Slgn ahead Wh1Ch read Lowell B1lsborough s Beauty Salon I went 1n to talk to Lowell He sa1d that he had become 1nterested 1n beauty and ha1r styl1ng when he was 1n old T H S He showed me a new H1 F1 set he had Just receu ed as a down payment on a permanent waxe that he had gn en He put a record on Suddenly the a1r was f1lled w1th a beaut1ful XOICS Such 1ntonat1on Such mus1cal 1nterpretat1on As soon as the song was f1n1shed I looked at the name on the record Ph1ll1p Asal' I remembered that Phll had been pres1dent of our xocal group Lowell Sald that Ph1ll1p had stud1ed for years and years to ach1exe h1s present xocal ab1l1ty I walked another block and arr1x ed at my hotel I turned on the T V and saw Jo Ann Baade stand1ng on a stage tell1ng Jokes I soon learned that she wr1tes all her mater1al It's a shame that she doesn't haxe a tape record1ng of some of these th1ngs she sa1d when she was ID h1gh school She'd make a fortune The next show on TV was a dramat1c show Suddenly I saw the name of the d1rector on the screen Patr1ck McGu1re Immed1ately I called Pat As soon as 1nterest had become aroused when we were sen1ors and when he got to see the play pract1ces d1rected Just as soon as we had f1n1shed speakrng someone knocked on my hotel door Judy Buffmgton came 1n and expla1ned that she had heard that I was 1n town She told me that she has marrled a xery r1ch Alaska o1lman Suddenly she ran out the door say1ng she Just remem bered that she had left her dog sled double parked I dec1ded to go to the hotel lunch room and get somethlng to eat When I came 1nto the lunch room I 1mmed1ately not1ced Sharon R1ppen trop who was eat1ng alone I sat dowxm and we started to chat about old t1mes She told me that she 15 runmng a candy shop but then she added that th1S was Just a front for her counterfe1t1ng operat1ons Sounds l1ke a sweet l1ttle way to make money doesn't 1t'7 '7 On my way to my hotel I saw Frances Bahl1ng Her occupatlon 15 very exc1t1ng She was the f1rst person to go to the moon Before they would let her go she had to gne some eudence that she could rema1n calm 1n a cr1s1s She told them that she was about the only one who stayed calm 1n your gox ernment class That was enough proof for them W1thout real1z1ng lt I've f1lled 1n on what all the class of '59 are do1ng except myself Well I we become a celebr1ty They call me the Elsa Maxwell of the M1dW9St I m always g1v1ng part1es because all of my part1es that I gaxe 1n h1gh school were such hot or should I say bo1l1ng successes In clos1ng I want to w1sh you good luck 1n your new post of Kossuth County Manager Respectfully yours Ellen Nelson S It's sure a small world 1sn t 1t'9 '7 'P '7 'J ,Q REMEMBER Q All those Sen1or part1es 'P J I: Sklp Day?
