The Franks together are proud parents of five children, three girls and two boys. 4) Susan Hutchins, an- other graduate of THS, re- ceived her Bachelor's De- gree in English from SOSU, She's currently working on her Master's Degree. At THS she is teaching Soph- omore and Junior English and Journalism. She and her husband, Larry, enjoy raising quarter horses. 5) A new teacher to Memorial Grade School this year is Kay Garner who teaches the Multi-handi- capped. Ms. Garner gradu- ated from SOSU in 1981. 6) Not new to the Tish School System but new to THS is Kay Lanier, hired to teach Oklahoma History, Civics, Geography and Pro- blems of Democracy. r FACULTY: NEW CLASS being in- troduced to the curriculum of THS, is Art. This challeng- ing class is taught by Geneva Kennedy. The classes are de- signed to introduce students to the fundamentals of art. Highlights of the class will be: Freehand Drawing, Perspective Drawing, Calli- graphy, Watercoloring, Cer- amics, Creative Stitchery, Block Printing, and Problems in Designs. Art students have the opp- ortunity to learn the funda- mental principles by studying 5 basic elements: line, shape, value, texture, color. Using the various media list- ed above, hopefully students will develop an appreciation for art, as well as improve heir skills. 1) Tina Houser is teaching third grade and assisting Don Franks as Flag Corp Di- rector. She is the wife of Boyd Houser, Coach. They have two children. 2) Kathy Cole graduated from THS and completed her BS Degree From Oklahoma State University in 1976. She began her teaching career at Konawa. Kathy has worked with the Coop for two years teach- ing Special Education. Last year she taught seventh and eighth grade English at Madill. This year she is back at Tish- omingo teaching sixth and eighth grade English. 3) 7) Don and Linda Franks recently married two years moved here from Drum- right and Oilton, Oklahoma. Living to Learn Learning to Live Everyday living . . . sewing, cooking, nutrition, and family planning are some of the sub- jects studied by home economics students at THS. Skills are sharpened through demonstration and work experiences. Proper care and use of equipment is learned by using the equipment not always found in every home. Experiencing home economics is necessary to broaden the know- ledge of future homemakers and maturing them to handle tomor- rows problems. l)Plaids must match, a problem studied by Mrs. Duncan and Pat Plumley.2)Finishing touches done by Gayla Owens and Gina McCreary 3) Housing, blueprints and design studied by Home Ec.
