Our experiences here should be experiences that we can learn and grow by. he should never try tc live in the past but wre should move on to the future with high hopes of becoming what we want to be. Do not ever be afraid of moving to slowlyj be afraio only of standing still. -Cathy Owens Remember the Times of Your Life We never realize ho , important each and every moment of our high school life is until much later. Pep assemblies, football games and the prom are only a few of the memories that we will carry with us forever. More im- portantly, simple things like friendship some- times get put aside vhen friendship is really the most important of all. Football games come and go but a true friend will always stand by your side. So iust remember, memories belong in ycur irird, friendship belongs in your heart. -Cathy Owens The Mind Like CLASSES You know, it is funny how a few sail- ing faces, faces of your friends, can charge lousy times such as an early morning band practice or a day full of rain to times we will cherish forever. We will never forget those faces of our friends and their smiles that kept us going when we really wanted to give up. You know, it is funny how a few smiling faces make up a time of our life here at T.H.S. . . . A time that will be in your memory forever. - Cathy Owens 12 A Parachute, Functions Only When Open WITTIEST MOST LIKLEY TO SUCCEED CUTEST SWEETEST BIGGEST FLIRT BEST ATHLETES « ® • • Each year the Senior Class votes on their favorites. New faces, new talent, all of them eager to try to be more successful than the previous season —challenging new records that had been set before them. Even with long hours of practice, sweat and hard work, they en- dured . Each game created memories that will never be forgotten—The winning touch- down, being beaten by the clock, or mis- takes that lost the game. Together they felt The thrill of victory; the agony of defeat. The joy of winning compen- sated for all the pain; only those who participated can truly understand those feelings. Learning from mistakes, gain- ing in knowledge and confidence and try- ing to make the plays all fit perfectly was the name of the game. The Pride, Determination and Enthus- iasm is brought out in each player game after game. The memories will always be there for the players to reflect upon. Though it may be sad to remember—BE PROUD! Another very important part is our involvement in high school activities. These needs are met by our organizations. Organizations give students a chance to do things together and to learn to work together to achieve our goals. Our school has many different organizations to meet the curious minds of our students. Everyone should take part in our organizations and keep them alive and an important part of our school. doing things together and getting to know one another. r Cathy Owens—Editor Kelli Parrish—Co-Editor Jeanine McDonald—Staff Angie Willard—Photographer Robyn Jarman—Photographer Kim Wood—Business Manager Robin Hopkins—Assistant Photography Paula Walk—Staff Karen Slover—Staff Kim Hicks—Staff Susan Coker—Staff 1982 TGJIRBOOK STUFF 104 YEARBOOK— I'll say one thing for yearbook, it's not all fun. THE END OF AN ERA During the past 22 years the Tishomingo H. S. band has won 98 trophies and awards. They received 39 Superior ratings, 19 at State Regional Marching contests, and won nine sweepstakes. In 1963 they won sweep- stakes and was the outstanding marching band in Class C at Tri-State. The band marched in the Cotton Bowl parade 6 times. In 1975 the band participated in the Bi-Centennial Half- time Astro-Blue-Bonnet Bowl. The Oklahoma Bandmasters Association elected Mr. Stoddard to the Hall of Fame in 1975. The honors received by the Tishomingo Band through out the past 22 years are a fitting tribute to the man and band members who have worked long and hard hours. The retirement of Mr. Stoddard will leave a position that his successor will find hard to fill, but the tra- dition of winning and being good at what you do best a- long with the man who made that tradition is one that will be remembered at THS. •W Top Left: Jeanine McDonald, 1st Vice-President: Top Right: Troy Butler, President; Bottom Left: Pam Kirkley, SecretaryBottom Right: Chris Roan, 2nd Vice-President. SPONSER— Mrs. Wil- liams . Royalty Everyone one day dreams of becoming a king or queen. This year, that dream came true for a few of our students. These stu- dents experienced the thrill and excitement that many of us dream about. For them that dream came true. Although many kings and queens are chosen throughout the years, each is special in his or her own way. This royalty section is dedicated to those per- sons whose dream came true. The faculty at Tishomingo schools is one that we can all be proud. Most students aren't aware of the extra effort and hours our teachers put in and they do it for one reason, because they care. They care about us and they care about our future. A teacher's job is pro- bably one of the hardest in the country and our,| teachers do their job well. If you never do anything else in all of your days at school, tell at least one of your teachers Thanks . It will mean a lot to them. ADMINISTRATION S. G. Littlepage, Superintendent. GRADUATION DAY Today we'll start a new life And we'll say our last goodbyes To all the friends we've grown to love With whom we've laughed and cried. Remembering the fun and laughter, The problems and the fears. And watching all our memories grow Throughout our high school years. The memories of the dances And the new friends that we've met. Vacations, teachers, talking And exams we'd rather forget. Yes, high school days are precious but brief. Where all your dreams come true; It is not the end, but the beginning Of a life we'll start anew. .Joy Shefstad ‘82 143 Remembe r, do yoT temembe r The laughter and the tears The shadows of misty yester-year The good times and the bad you’-ve seen And all the others in between Remember, do you remember 4|j The times of your life? Remember when, things were different then But then all things change, somehow rearrange That’s why while we can we should Remember when. Memories are supposed to be Reflections of what used to be That’s why while we can we should Remember when.
