Tishomingo High School Tishomingo, Oklahoma Tishomingo High'School would be in- adequate without the dedicated leadership of its faculty. Longfellow so aptly expressed our sentiments when he wrote....... “Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime And departing leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time.” Here in Tishomingo schools we are making our first impressions on the “sands of time.” As we pro- gress from grade school to high school, then on to college, our footprints are making deeper and deeper imprints. Here in the halls of T.H.S. we are setting a pattern and a path for others to follow. We want you to know about these patterns and paths, so step joyfully through these pages, and as you behold the progress and pride of each long stride we have made this year, rejoice with us that we have had wonderful leaders and that each step lias been carefully guided. We, the INDIAN staff, wish to express our sincerest thanks to the faculty. Board of Education, parents, students, and friends for their cooperation in making this yearbook possible. We are so happy now to share with you some of the trials, defeats, joys, victories, and honors that have been ours this school year. Walk proudly with us now! Each step has been a struggle—but a verv rewarding one, as you will see as you tread softly past each milepost. If when you turn the pages of this book in the future, it brings back cherished memories, then our purpose has been achieved-our most ambitious step completed! Vo 7 Coach Tims disciplines us, repremands us, and encourages us with his. “famous quotes” which are posted in the girls dressing room. A few of those include: “Remember it is better to have a little talent and much purpose than a little purpose and much talent!”, and, “Better to learn a little a lot than learn a lot a little.” We agree! During our practices, when we're not hustling, he reminds us, “If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well. Therefore, as you practice so will you play.” We’ve also learned that “Victories don’t come easily-they are earned. Those who pay the price know.”, yet, “No one ever drowned in sweat!”. Just before an important game. Coach always comes through with, ‘A quitter never wins-a winner never quits. A team that won’t be beaten, can’t be beaten.” He has taught us that sportsmaaship and respect gained for the team as a whole is more important than what any one in- dividual can achieve alone, and Coach Tims admonishes us to “Set our goals for STATE, not ALL STATE”. For this we love and respect him. The Only Place Where Success” Comes Glenn Rowe, no. 11, scores against Grant in the Southeastern Tournament.
