SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Science has made considerable progress since the year 1967. When I was in high school I would never have thought I'd be finding myself traveling daily from earth to moon. Since the earth and moon have been so closely drawn together through the inventions of inter- planetary space travel, many people have moved their families and businesses to the moon. Small towns are springing up everywhere. When I began working for SPACESHIPS INCORPORATED, I knew that i was working for the wealthiest two men in the universe. Carroll Young and Larry Hutchins made their Sfirst billionS on television as the Gemini Twins, who spend their time planning and carry- ing out fiendish plots against BATMAN. They are so popular that the kids are cheering them instead of BATMAN and ROBIN. Now they are the owners of the largest transporta- tion system in the universe. And, who would be captain of their largest spaceship but Earnie Coffman. There is one city on the moon about which I must tell you. It is surrounded by a large wall, and the main gate is well guarded. Who else would those guards be but Betty, Margie, and Judy! Above the gates of the citv are written the names of the mayor and judge TOMMY NIBLETT AND BILLY POTTS - BORN LEADERS. Andy Bob didn't miss his chance. He came right up and erected an ARMSTRONG'S DRY GOODS in the very center of town. The smaller building alongside ARMS’! RONG'S could be none other than JOHN ANTHONY’S STATION, with Carlene’s Space Gas giv- ing him competition across the street. Carolyn Weaver has her own shop featuring Carolyn’s spacewear. Linda O’Dell is Caro- lyn's top model. This city isn’t without its higher social citizens either. Michael Folzenlogen, Ingrid Ritch- ie, Bill Burgess, and Juanita Nix entertain each other nightly with chemistry and calculus problems. (Personally, I think they’re plotting against Mr. Caperton and Mr. Harkey.) Ruby Dilbeck is the only policewoman on the moon. She’s learned her job well! Linda Chaney, Caffie Carroll, and Barbara Hook keep her busy by running stop signs in their air propelled space cars. Susan Brown was determined that the people of this new U.S. territory must not forget their Indian heritage, and has become (by vote) the loveliest Indian Princess on the moon. There are two other girls who have carried early customs to the moon. Ada Blevins and June Chew have been raising cattle on the largest ranch on the moon with Mary Holt and Ricky Dosh as their foremen. Montie Wheeler, Jackie Walton, and Edgar Short have got a good thing going. They started out with a RECREATION HALL and their business is now the largest on the moon. They feature such famous entertainers as Leon Carpenter, Laura Norris, Sarah Elkins, and June Glover; and those cool comedians Claude, Tishie Mae, and Henrietta Brown. Becky Scarberry is a famous singer who sometimes makes appearances at fabulous nightspots. I heard that Dale Rounsaville was a writer and spent his time writing plays to star David Swain. This town would never survive without a Murray College. And, who else would be Mur- ray’s football coaches but Larry' (Stumbo) Ford, David Mullens, Quannah Nail, and Larry Woods. Of course the half-time show features Debbie Estes in her fabulous twirling routine and Teresa Tribble, who has become “Cheerleader of the Year . With this wonderful group of people living on the moon, the universe has little to worry about. By: Kathy Hutchens
