HI- twuad fail ¥au x% Studeat Bobby Lee Ellis, better known to all of us as Alvin , was chosen by the faculty of Tishomingo High School to be the Honor Student for the year, 1956. His name will be added to the plaque in the hall. Alvin, son of Mrs. Sadie Ellis, is active in all high school activities. Bobby has had quite a job this year since he has been president of the Senior Class and President of the Student Council. Alvin is also Sports Editor of the De- fender and The Indian. Hi - houud Soy The High School All-Around Boy for this year was Jimmy Lee Duncan. Dune joined the Seniors when we were Freshmen in High School and has really been an asset to the class since that time. Jimmy has been vice-president of our Freshman and Sophomore class; was in the cast of the Junior Play, and has lettered four years in Football, Basketball and 3 years in Baseball. This year Jimmy is vice-president of the Senior Class and a member of the Student Council, FHA, and Letterman's Club. Jimmy’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Duncan. Miss Jo Ann Patton, a Junior student in High School, has been chosen for the honor of All Around Girl for 1956. Jo participates in all school activities. This year she played Jennie in the Junior Class play. Jo was Foot- ball Queen Attendant this fall and was a member of the FHA, Girls Basketball team, and was a cheerleader in the Pep Club this year. Jo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Patton, was All-Around Girl her Freshman year.

The Valedictorian of the 1956 Seniors is Peggy O'Bryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. O'Bryan. She is a member of the State Honor Society, Future Home- makers of America, and Student Council. In her Junior year Peggy was a repre- sentative to Girls State and this year she was Football Queen. She also served as Editor of the Defender and Assistant Editor of the Indian. Peggy is accom- panist for the High School Girls Trio and the Murray College R.O.T.C. Glee Club. Billy Morrow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morrow, was named Salutatorlan of the 1956 graduating class. He has been a member of our class since the fourth grade. This year Billy is Editor of the In- dian, and Assistant Editor of the Defen- der. Billy is quite active in the Science and Mathematics department of the high school and received the Mathematics Award his Junior Year. Billy is also a member of the Future Farmers of America.
