ALL-ROUND GIRL Mary Bynum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Bynum, was chosen one of the two all-round girls in high school this year. She reigned as homecoming football queen, is active in pep club and F.H.A. She has served her class as secretary for the past two years. Mary is art editor of the Defender and is on the Indian staff this year. She had a role in the senior play. In her junior year, Mary received the social science award. ALL-ROUND GIRL The other all-round girl selected by the faculty is Shirley Harbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harbert. Shirley was valedictorian of her freshman graduating class, and is again valedictorian of the senior class. She is drum major of the high school band — led the band to win first place in marching in the Texoma Music Festi- val at Denison, Texas. Shirley is on the student council this year, and served on the staffs of both the Defender and Indian in 1954.

HONOR STUDENT ALL-ROUND BOV Tommy Quaid, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Quaid, has attended Tisho- mingo Public Schools through most of his school career. Tommy is president of the Tisho- mingo F.F.A. Chapter, and has been active in football, basketball and 4—H club. He had a leading role in his class play in both his junior and senior years, and was crowned F.H.A. King at, the FHA—FFA coronation ceremony. Representing the Tishomingo Garden Club in a speech contest at Wewoka, Tommy won first on an original speech on Hawks and Owls — Our Friends. Cynthia Chapman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Chapman, has attended Tishomingo Public Schools for 12 years. She was all-round girl of her freshman class, and has been in the upper 10%, scholastically, during her 3 years in high school. Miss Chapman has been an active member in band for 3 years, participated in her junior and senior plays, and was a 1954 Girl’s State delegate. Cynthia’s name will be engraved on the Honor Student plaque in the entrance hall.
