Tishomingo County Agricultural High School 17 I HEALTH , Tishomingo is a regular health resort. Much has been said of improving Jackson Springs and putting up buildings for the accommodation of visitors. The water is as good as can be found in the state. This part of the county and state is as high as any section in North Mississippi. We feel that we cannot say too much for the healthfulness of our sur- roundings. WATER Water is pumped from a deep Well into a high tank Where it finds its Way into the dormitories. Hot and cold baths are furnished both dormitories. MORAL SURROUNEDINGS A great number of the immoral influences of the larger cities are lacking in our town. Our citizens take pride in inviting the boys and girls of the school to attend Sunday School and preaching every Sunday. The Baptist, Metho- dist and Christian denominations have Sunday School every Sunday. There is preaching in at least one of the churches every Sunday. The moral influence of church Work here is such as to be of great benefit to students attending the Agri- cultural High School. We commend these things to our friends and patrons. DISCIPLINE The government of the school is in the hands of the Superintendent and his assistants, Who realize that the greatest problem of any school is its discipline. It is the duty of the school to train for citizenship. Obedience to rule in school means obedience to law out of school. We have no code of rules. Do Tight is the one rule We adhere to. All pupils have a sense of right, and our discip-

Our pupils are taught to have the proper respect for rightful authority, both to others and themselves. When a pupil is continually disobedient, some form of punishment must be administered. If a pupil, by disregard to authority and right, becomes a menance to the rights of others, his connection with the school will be severed. .e REGULATIONS A To regulate our school life, certain rules are necessary. All pupils have their rights, and these must not be infringed upon. Boys and girls come here for the purpose of studying and promoting their welfare in general. Pupils who Want to loaf or waste time or influence others to do so, had better not come. ' All pupils are encouraged to be prompt at all dutiesg not to loaf on the streetsg not to leave the school premises without permissiong to attend Sunday School and preaching every Sunday g not to have parties during the week Without permissiong not to smoke on school premisesg to remain in own room at nightg not to use profanity or improper lan- guageg to pay boardand other expenses in advanceg NOT TO HAZE A PUPIL UNDER SEVERE PENALTY OR EX- PULSION FROM SCHOOL. VISITING . Pupils make this their home when they enter school here. This necessitates everyone doing some work each day about the premises, feeding animals, making fires, sweeping, washing dishes etc. So when a pupil is not here his work must go on just the same. Other pupils do not like to do the work of an absent member. Therefore, pupils visiting home must make arrangements to have their work done dur- ing their absence. A visit home once a month is allowed.
