SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Four short years ago the Class of 57 entered Tlpton Hlgh School as humble freshmen and they had nevel felt qulte as strange and left out of thlngs as they d1d that f1rst dax The upperclassmen d1d not conslder the freshmen worthy of thelr attentlon and even the sophomores looked con descendmgly down thexr noses at them Durmg the first few days matters d1d not lmprove much but after the tradxtlonal ordeal of 1n1t1at1on they began to feel more at home The All Class Party d1d much to further thls feellng As freshmen they were too busy gettmg to know thelr vsay around to take part ln many act1v1t1es b It they d1d fmd t1me to challenge the sophomores to a softball game Naturally the freshmen won As sophomores they really began to cllmb About half of the xarsxty basketball team that year were sophomores and some of the class mem bers were also mamstays of the football and track teams The1r f1rst b1g money makmg venture was the doughnut sale 1n whlch everyone co oper ated At last they had a bank account' Th y also bought thexr class rmgs that year Then before thev knew It they were upperclassmen Thelr Jumor year was the buslest year and the most profltable They had a new saonsor Mr Clxne and under hls d1rect1on thex sold pop cand, and popcorn at the home ball games and some of them forfelted thexr lunch hours to sell candy m the halls at school At the end of th year they had more money 1n thelr treasury than any other class b fore them Wxth part of thexr bank roll they gave a s c essful Jun or senxor prom It had a Hawanan theme and everyone agreed that lt vsas one of the best ever gnven at T H S Now they are semors For most of them thls year has been the best They have been busy wlth plans for graduatlom the senxor tr1p and thexr future occupatlons Thev reallze now that xx hen they put on thelr caps and gowns and recelve thelr dxplomas th1s spring thev Wlll be leavlng behmd them the most valuable years of the r l1ves They the Golden Class of 1957 are ready for whatex er lles ahead Page I2 , . . , , , ' C . es, . . , .
