I J. THE RAVINGS lof an ex-T. H. S. student in 19501 Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious ennal of my high school days, While I read, I did arrive at the one by 'Z5ng And I soon became absorbed in this delightful maze. Keyholeng How the band was organized, and vocations they advised And how well our school was represented at the state, our 5081: ' Both in Latin and in basketball we surely gained control For the state had been our goal. Soon the pictures grew much stronger as I thought g little longer, And I saw the Seniors graduating with renown galore, They who made their final year a good start for their career. BASEBALL The outcome of the Tipton High baseball team was not as well as that of previous years, but the experience gained was valuable. The team played five games, losing four. The scores were as follows: Alexandria l ------- Tipton O Alexandria 7 ------- Tipton 5 . Sharpsville 3 ------- Tipton 2 Sharpsville 15 ------ Tipton 2 Atlanta 4 ------- Tipton 5 This spring, Coach Ward organized a kitten-ball league instead of having a baseball league. There were six teams of high school boys and also a faculty team. The captains were: D. E. Leist, R. Turnbell, Phil Benson, Jack Jones, Tommy Green, J. Schulenburg, and Bob Pontius. INTRAMURAL S TAND IN GS TEAMS CAFTAINS Redskins Neil Johns Freshmen Joe Deakyne Black Hawks Lemuel Smith Dubs Robert Cox Wildcats Kenneth Bozell Lucky Strikes John Hummer Street Cleaners Horace Zimmerman The winning intramural team was the Square Heads. Captain of this team was Lester Rogers. The players were Joe James, Joe Hummer, Bill Murphy, Bob Murphy, Lloyd Glass, and Bill Hinton. The second place winning intramural team was the Street Cleaners. The Captain was Horace Zimmerman. The third place winning intramural team was thG Lucky Strikes.
