SCIENCE CLUB The Science Club got away to a slow start this year but after once getting started has had some good meet- ings. The membership of the club consisted of Mary Ellen Barrum, Presidentg Phyllis Foster, Secy., Trees., and Helen Crail, Ralph Curry, Grace ann Gasho, Joe Goar,Paul L ons, Betty Grishaw, Julia Ann Harting, Theodore Schwan Edith smith, and cena Stoner, Dr. H. E. Enders of Purdue University visited the club in March. Plans were discussed for affiliating with the Indiana Junior Academy of Science of which Dr. Enders is the sponsor. The club hopes to become a mem- ber of the Junior Academy next year. Gfficers for the new year erezy Theodore Schwann, Presidentg Julia Ann Harting, Vice-presidentg Phyllis Foster, Secy. Treas. HI-Y CLUB The Hi-Y Club was organized late last year with Mr. Trabue as Sponsor and the following officers were elected for the year 1954-55. Richard Turnbell--President Richard Stoner ---- Vice-president Eugene Stoner ----- Secretary Jack Burdge ------- Treasurer These officers were installed in November by the Kokomo Club. Most regular meetings have been held and interest is growing in the work of tm: club. The stated purpose of the Hi-Y is nTo create, maintain, and extend through- out the school and community high standards of Chris- tian Character.H It is expected that by the middle of next year, about 50 boys will wear the Hi-Y Pin and par- ticipate in the clubs activities.

F... 8 SUNSnIJE SOCIETY The past year has seen much progress in S. S. girl's work. Most notable of their doings have been the sending of flowers and candy to convalescents, contributions to the Tuberculosis and Red Cross Ass., and to the Riley 1 f have also sponsored a Christmas party and Hospital. T565 Easter party for children. For their own entertainment the girls have enjoyed two pitch-in suppers, a scavenger hunt, and a combination rtw with the Atlanta girls as Weiner roast and bunco pa J their guests, The success of so great a yearly program has depend- ed largely upon the leadership of an able staff as well as the cooperation of the group as a whole. As this was Miss Hoffmann's first year as sponsor,the girls feel that she is to be congratulated for her competent handling and directing of the organization. The other members of the cabinet were: President, Mary J. Preslerg Vice President, Dorothy McCorkleg Treasurer, Margaret Baseyg Secretary, Hazel Mink. The Section leaders Were: Georgadine Bowers, Dorothy McCorkle, Mary Jane Racobs, Mary K. Reibling, and Florence Rosenthal. GLEE CLUBS Under the direction of Miss Lois Slcne,the Boy's and B th Girl's Glee Clubs have had a very successful year. o boys and girls have sung on many different occasions for assembly programs, clubs, County Music Festival, Kiaeanis Music Festival at Muncie, and the presenting of the Op- peretta nmiss Cherryblossom.N The president of the Girl's Glee Club was Mary Jane ' ' t f the Boy's Glee Presler, a Club. Keyholeng How the band was organized, and vocations they advised And how well our school was represented at the state, our 5081: ' Both in Latin and in basketball we surely gained control For the state had been our goal. Soon the pictures grew much stronger as I thought g little longer, And I saw the Seniors graduating with renown galore, They who made their final year a good start for their career.
