M M ' 1-Y ' TRACK 7 W This early in the year it is difficult to BUY a greatldeal about track. Unfortunately Tipton does koi: have a good track so that it is impossible for e boys who are interested to do any work before ' weather comes. This year the first call for was made about the first of April, just two ef fre two weeks the weather was cold and rainy and boys hardly had a chance to get one good work- JA, ,pp .EMT nj :Mg before the Central Indiana meet. During the J In spite of the lack of practice the boys par- -t4cipated in the Central Indiana meet nt Lafayette. Tie boys succeeded in winning 95 points in stiff competition, which is more than might have been ex- pected. The boys hed the opportunity of seeing a good Ymeet and observing some good performers and they learned a great deal from their trip. 1 4. J 1 The boys who went to the Central Indiana meet were: Cloud, Dickover, Gunning, Hamilton, Lockwood, Jones, Horton, J. Kattingly, McLellnnd, Snow, Turn- hell, and Richardson. There are several other boys who give promise of being track men another year. -yoteblyz Cox, Deakyne, Coleman, Bozell, J. Russell, MQ James, and Maurice Boyer. -' Mr. Runyon and Er. Hiatt were asked to essist Mr. Ward with the track because of the intra-mural soft ball program. At the beginning of the season there were more boys out for track than at any time in recent years. It is hoped that this interest 'continues and that some arrangements can be rmede whereby Tipton can have some track facilities in the future. F 1 V x lakh.. ?. Dorothy McGork1e '36 THIS BUILDING This building is a funny chap, He watches all our pranks, He never lifts the roof, his cap And seldom gives his thanks 7 0 The furnace is his mighty heart, That pumbs the liquid heat Through long pipes to the farthest p Then this it must repeat. He wears the same old suit of red With yellow decorations, He never lies upon a bed, Nor gets a real vacation. Our main social event was the picnic rat the park at the close of the year. As sophomores we became a little more important and a little less bewildered. Our officers were:Eugene Stoner, presg Alice Bowlin, vice-pres3Richard Turnbell secretary-treasurerg and Mr. Runyon, sponsor, Our annual picnic was held at Fbrest Park at Noblesville. And now we're' Juniors. This time Richard Turnbell is presidentg Alice Bowlin, vice-presg Edith Mae Ggle, secretary-treasurerg and Iiss Moore, sponsor. We were estecially wise in our choice of sponsor, for she has certainly put us on our feet financially and taken us out' of our bewildered state. With her help ig. have earned money enough to entertain the seniors with a royal reception. The Junior Glass has been well represented in var ious school activities, and this year we are especially proud of our achievements in basketball, Latin contest, and oratorical contest. The Junior Glass is looking forward to the time when it will become the Senior Class of T.H.S.and hopes to be able to live up to the standards set by other senior classes. SOPHOMORE GLASS HISTORY In September, 1934 a class of wise students enter- ed high school assembly and assumed the dignified name of Sophomores. As we had emerged from the Freshmen state, we were glad to call some one else green ,N M I 1 .A ' S Al vi f ' fi w wr-raisfa H ' 4. ,J Q7 , HI 3,,,,,' ,. ., '- 1! U 2. . I y af 2151 W. 3. W'Tis some annual,n I whispered with my heart all full ' of praise, UA relic of some bygone days.H Ah, distinctly I remember when Miss Slone came in September, And the Seniors started putting out a paper called NThe . Keyholeng How the band was organized, and vocations they advised And how well our school was represented at the state, our 5081: ' Both in Latin and in basketball we surely gained control For the state had been our goal. Soon the pictures grew much stronger as I thought g little longer, And I saw the Seniors graduating with renown galore, They who made their final year a good start for their career.
