With the end of the year come mem- ories of many pleasant and happy experiences for all of us. We are happy for these thoughts. We also hope that all of us have grown this year. We refer to social, emotional, and in- tellectual growth in this case. We want this not only for our students, but to those ofus who sit on the other side of the desk. We all need to grow. All of us need to liveour lives as a running brook and nota stagnant pool. As you develop this zest for living you will also spread it to others. This is very con- tagious. Congratulations on another good year. MR, R, R. RITCHIE, Principal A i ,..--s A Message Seniors of 1957: Commencement Season is always a happy one. A time to pause momentarily with a sense of achievement and to accept the con- gratulations of parents, friends, and classmates. We, who have had the pleasure of working with and for you, congratulate you too. And, as you turn to face your tomorrow, may you do so with faith and confidence in yourselves and a determination to reach your goal no matter what the odds may be. Good luck and best wishes, MR, L. T, BALL, Superintendent 'IQ' ,1,f- ei? ai-M Seated, left to right: Floyd Lachey, Ed Kessler, clerk: Nevin Coppock, president: L. T. Ball, Supenntend ent: Maurice Kreider, vice president: Lucille Milner, Dr. R. L. Wunderlich. Board of Education Once again we wish to give specialrecognition toour school board for the work that makes our school system possible. These board members have been active throughout the term planning the future of THE TIPP CITY EXEMPTED VILLAGE SCHOOLS whereby they will be of the most benefit to students having an earnest desire to obtain an educa- tion. Employing the teachers and custodians and making up the budget for the school year are only two of the important tasks they perform. Their efforts toward improvement seem untiring. Though they do not receive the thanks they deserve, we want them to know that we realize that they are primarily responsible for making our school days possible. We like to think of the school board when we think of this motto: GOOD SCHOOLS DON'T JUST HAPPEN, The Annual Staff 0 -'Y' W 'z,,, X 2' X xixxxxx. .ff C' X Lf 1,QJQo f f wt ' W Zz M f f ' W2 Qf ff 1 W ff Foreword In the forthcommg pages a scrapbook of memoues has been lard before you There are some of us who wrth these memones w1ll walk through the doors of TIP E P CANOE HIGH SCHOOL for the last ttme as a student and mto the arms of the wrdespread world Smce the underclassmen can look forward to two or three more years at THS, tlus book has followed a theme, as drrected by your RED DEVIL, and has tned to grve you a ptctonal revrew of what the present Semor Class has done rn then four years of bemg members of TIPPECANOE HIGH SCHOOL. For one half of the day establishmenw of employers are used for training students in actual occupational activities. The other half day is divided between academic subjects and study related to work being done on the job. While several occupations may be included in the program, the individual student receives training in only one. The acquisition of training in this manner does not interfere with gradua- tion from regular high school or subsequent enrollment in most colleges or universities. Boys currently enrolled are receiving training in the following trades: radio and television repair, tool and die fmachinistj, drafting, meat cutting, nursery work, and auto mechanics. - Mr. Struewing - Instructor sic vi 583 X in x 'y , 5 119008 Y , I I I 'A . , ov -.. . 1 5, . , 1 , A ' Tk'J.n11 ff' ,yy Q lv, A '1-' ' K 9 Y: 'jf ATA E W N Iv G -- WFS E' e 5 xx' if 'F' I ss x riff ' , -ix? my f if f f if . r' H ,K U ,i,.f3 Y - . 4 n.fg1,f Q - 513. s S Q 9' K lb 7 if Vx nf-2 'X X.
