'Q History In September of 1955, our crew numbering 60 set forth on our first adventurous trip into space. Mr. Meade and Mr. Corrigan guided this first trip by supervising our magazine sales and candy sales. The trophies for winning the magazine sale were awarded to Carol Taylor and Janice Tobin. The highlight of the trip was the freshman initiation, candlelight service and dance given by the seniors. Under the leadership of Mr. Ruger on our second trip, we advanced further into space, coming closer to our goal by selling refreshments at the basketball games and having many successful dances. At the halfway mark of our school life we embarked on our third trip. We sold stationery, put on a carnival, and tried our hand at acting by producing Aunt Samanthy Rules the Roost, directed by Mrs. Goodfellow. The two memorable mo- ments that took place were the receiving of our class rings, which we're all so proud of, and the Junior Prom. With the help of Mr. Merena and Miss Niciu, we worked hard at the tasks necessary to make this prom a success. Our dance was a wonderful success with the beautiful Oriental theme and the crowning of King Jack and Queen Jean. In the fall of 1958, our crew now numbering 43, began our last year with the presentation of the Senior Play, No Boys Allowed under the direction of Mr. Evans. Our many activities directed by Miss Meyerman and Mr. Evans brought our visions of Washington closer. When we entered high school in September 1955, and began to reach for that far away star of graduation, it seemed far away and unattainable, but now as we hold this star in our hand, we see that it is only the beginning of a lifetime of reaching for higher and higher stars. We, the fifth graduating class of Tioga Central School, will always look back on the fun-filled years that started us on our journey into life.
